Segregation will affect men and woman no matter how far along we come in society

March18

Although in many countries men and women are considered equal, there are still some countries that still feel that men are supior. We as a nation have come a long way since the old times of men being the hierarchy of the two sexes. Most of our modern society has come to terms with male and female equality. We understand now that women are just as capable of doing everyday tasks as men are.

This visual demonstrates a kind of segregation that we don’t see as often. In our society we make hurtful, sterotypical jokes as a way to make fun of the other sex; males are simple, dumb and strong (kind of like cavemen), and women are the ones to stay in the home to cook and clean. This visual can show two perspectives, one of the boy having the priveledge to sit amoung the women in prayer but not made to act as quiet and repectful. Or you could look at it as the boy is supior and all men are allowed to act this way ( not saying that all men would stick their tounge out at the camera man). We can tell by the color of the childs shirt (yellow) that this is a happy child and the clothing he wears looks like it is more expensive than the rest of the plain white outfits the women wear. Everyone else in the pictures looks as if they are in prayer and it looks like a more serious ceremoney. I would like to say that the child is a part of a higher social standings by his clothing and behavior but im unsure. My assumptions might be completly off and this is just a miss behaving child and the camera just caught it at the right moment and it just looks like segregation like the child is higher than the rest (figurativly that is).

Although what we see might be segregation the picture can capture more then what we see. We dont know the entire story but this might just be a click of the camera at the right time. This migth be unacceptable behavior for this society and the child might have been punished after but for what we see it does apear to be segregation. A picture does tell a thousand words but maybe not an entire story.
