The Truman Show.

May27

Truman lives a very interesting life even if he knows it or not. He is watched constantly by millions of fans all over the world. Christof the director of the show protects Truman from any danger that lures from the outside world or the fictional town of Sea Heaven, kind of like a big brother. He has no secrets in his life no matter how hard he tries. The 5000 cameras would catch everything.  His treasure chest was the only thing he had to himself, but even his secrecy of freedom, wasn’t safe from the eyes of his viewers.

His chest contained a Piccaso-like picture of his true love Silvia. He tried to make this picture perfect from magazine pictures of girls. This love from Silvia was the only true thing in his world; therefore it had to be removed immediately from his life. This sudden loss of his new love devastated Truman, but his god Christof would quickly change that. He tried to bring a new romantic interest in his life but his love could not be supplemented by phony affection. His secrets being told to the entire world appalled others but interested some with glee and by the end of the movie we learned his opinion on the matter.

Truman quickly discovered that everything was not what it seemed, when a studio light came falling from the sky. As a child Truman was a very curious boy which gave no surprised when he thought something was wrong. The accidental radio station he wondered on to that listed all his action didn’t help his uneasiness. This feeling gave them his courage to escape and break his fear of the water. The director put multiple obstacles in his way, to attempt to keep him on the island. As a kid Truman’s father died on a freak storm at sea, which made him scared to go across water. Truman’s desire to find the truth and to find his love enabled him to overcome his fear let him sail the ocean.

Truman’s life was a chaos of lies, and little to believe. But he overcame this with his desire for truth and to find his true love. Truman chose to start living an unscripted life which would be watched by only the ones insight, a life that Truman could right his own life. This life would make Truman a true man.

Nice Troy! I loved how you tied the maker of Truman’s life, Christof, as a big brother ! 🙂 I also come to an agreement that Trumans like was chaos, what Truman did was to become a true man. 😀

Pointing out that Christof acts like an older brother was very interesting. This made me look at the movie in different ways. What really came to my attention was his secrecy for freedom, even though he is watched 24 hours a day
