Top Three Books of 2014:

1. Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep:

Doctor Sleep is the sequel to Stephen King’s The Shining, The Shining is an amazing novel, and I believe that Doctor Sleep lived up to that. From the moment you started reading until the very end, Stephen King had you engaged and on edge. He does at great job at connecting the peices between the two books, which is very imortant because they were written so far apart form each other, The Shining released in 1977, and Doctor Sleep released in 2013.

2. Ellen Hopkins’ Perfect:

Ellen Hopkins does an amazing job at capturing the struggles every teenager faces, she makes her characters so relatable and makes you feel like you truly know them. Really, I love every one of Hopkins’ books, but Perfect follows four struggling individuals, who are just trying to find themselves and their way, it’s so relatable. Even though most people do not struggle to the same extent, it makes you feel like things are going to be okay.

3. Tricks by Ellen Hopkins:

Again, I love every one of Ellen Hopkins’ books, but this one I found amazing because she followed six characters, individually. Before I started reading the book, I was concerned that I would not be able to follow each story clearly, with so much going on, but it was the complete opposite. Ellen Hopkins does an amazing job using six protagonists, it, in a way, keeps you more engaged, because six protagonists means five more characters to either love or hate.

Currently Reading: An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
